Yup, it’s official! You are registered for pre-school! You will be attending Cross of Christ Christian Pre-School this fall. I cannot believe it!! We went to register you last Thursday after we went to speech class. I really hope you like it there!!
What did we do today? Not much, really. You girls slept in so late (see the video from last night and you’ll know why)! So, we hung out, watched Cinderella, and you requested oatmeal and bananas for a very late breakfast. I spent half the day very frustrated and on hold with Comcast and AT&T trying to fix our internet and cell phone service. After way too long, I gave up and we decided to go to Nana’s. She made soup yesterday and we wanted the leftovers 🙂 She also made chicken and a new macaroni and cheese recipe. Then you guys had candy, followed by ice cream and cookies. You guys just don’t stop eating. After hanging out there for awhile we left and swung by Gaga’s. She said you could hang out there for a little bit so I could go home and get a few things done. The number one item on my to do list: take an uninterrupted shower! I don’t get to do that often! So, I did, then you came home and we had pizza, played and went to bed. Not a whole lot accomplished today, but we had fun. Oh, and a new pope got elected. And you learned how to do “the wave”.
Getting ready to leave Nana’s house, you decided to taste her door! You said it tastes like ice cream… weirdos! haha 🙂
Tomorrow is a big day… I’M REGISTERING YOU FOR PRE-SCHOOL!! Like, real legit pre-school. I cannot believe you are old enough to go to pre-school. Seriously, time is just flying by. I’ll try to make a video on the way there and post it tomorrow!
Okay, so yesterday I decided to make a probably poor (but fun) parenting decision. Our mailbox is at the front of our sub. Once all the houses are done being built, then we will get a mailbox at each house. Until then, to the front of the sub we go. So, yesterday I was expecting something in the mail and wanted to go check the mailbox. I asked you if you wanted to sit on my lap and drive down there…. !!! Your eyes lit up like Christmas morning and you ran to get dressed! Excited is an understatement. We decided, Molly, you would drive to the mailbox, then, Maddy, you could drive home. We barely got out of the driveway when, Molly, you said the steering wheel was too cold for your hands. It was pretty cold out that day. I guess we should have brought gloves. Oh, well… next time. So, we pulled over and switched. Maddy, when you got to the drivers seat you were squealing with excitement! I was cracking up at your driving skills… I really hope none of our neighbors were looking out their windows because they would have thought I was drunk at 10am! Molly, you were being a total nut and dancing crazy in the passenger seat. You guys are too much fun. Anyways, we got the mail, we drove home and you made me promise that you could drive to the mailbox again one day. So, I promise, you can do it again.
Oh, and don’t tell anyone 😉 I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person who has done this, and of course it was only in our sub… but still, let’s just keep it between us 🙂
So, I was busy working on my computer late last night. Just after 2am, I was finally able to go to bed. I went in the bathroom to brush my teeth. While doing so, my bathroom door started to open ever so slowly. Followed by two smiling little girls and an energetic, “Hi, Mommy!”.
Perhaps I should remind you, it was 2:30 in the morning! This conversation followed:
Needless to say, we cuddled up and fell asleep together in my bed last night. And by cuddled up I mean Mommy got kicked, pushed, rolled on, ect. all while listening to how the blanket wasn’t high enough, I was on your pillow and you needed a snack.
Mommy’s tired today. But, I still love you so much 🙂
These days, the moment I say the word “sleepover” you dart upstairs and start packing a bag! You LOVE having sleepovers! Every few weeks, Lauren usually asks to have you spend the night at her house. You love going to hang out with her for a night! Last Saturday was no different! Lauren called to let us know that it would be a Princess sleepover! She was the one who introduced you to your current favorite movie (Tangled) and tonight she had a surprise for you- she bought a new movie: Cinderella! So, we packed all the things a princess would need and waited for Lauren to come pick you up!
From the sounds of it, you guys had a blast! You put on your princess dresses as soon as you got there. Lauren texted me not long after saying my princesses weren’t acting like princesses! Your princess dresses (which are a few sizes too big) suddenly became “too tight” before dinner and you insisted on eating naked. (For the record, everything is “too tight” these days- bandaids, clothes, your hair, your teeth…. )
Luckily, she convinced you to get into your jammies before Uncle Jon got home. You guys then got to make special ice cream sundae’s, cuddle up in Lauren’s bed and watch your movie! Lucky girls!!
I love how excited you get to go over there and how much fun you get to have with your awesome Aunt YunYun. But, I also love picking you up in the morning… as much as I enjoy a few hours to myself, I MISS you guys when you aren’t here!!
Tonight, Daddy made plans to go with his friend, Steve, to Autorama. I don’t think we were technically invited… but we wouldn’t have wanted to go anyways! 🙂 We decided to have a GIRLS NIGHT and hit the town!!
Aunt Mimi came with us. We first had dinner at China Cafe (I love that you love chinese food as much as I do!). The owner, Suzanne, knew you had just had a birthday so she brought us over a special birthday dessert after our meal! So nice of her.
After dinner we headed to Fountain Walk. We went to the pet store and, Maddy, you fell in LOVE with a puppy! I was surprised because you both are normally pretty scared of dogs. But not this little white fluffy puppy! You giggled and played with it for awhile and wanted to take it home so bad. But, I was able to convince you the doggy needed to go to bed and I promised we’d come back to see it.
After the pet store, we hit up Lucky’s to run around and play games at the arcade. You guys had so much fun… and it actually worked out pretty well for me, too. You don’t even need any tokens- as long as you could sit at the game you thought you were really playing! So, it was free and fun! We ended with Coldstone ice cream. Maddy, you picked cake batter ice cream with gummy bears. Molly, you had chocolate with gummy bears. We hung out an Gaga’s for awhile after we dropped Mimi off. It was a late night! You both passed out within 5 minutes of getting home! I worry about my future though- you girls LOVE being “out on the town”. You never want to go home. You both told me you wanted to stay out on the town “all night! no sleep ever!”
I just found this on my phone and realized I forgot to post it! Maddy fell asleep like a good girl and Molly wasn’t so happy about it… so I ended up bringing Molly in my room. We chatted for a minute about her upcoming birthday! I always love having videos of you guys talking because your speech is growing and changing so fast!
Last Wednesday, we went with our neighbor friends (Heidi, Ryan & Brad and Erika & Sammi) to check out Story Time at the Novi Library! It was a lot of fun! You guys love the Novi Library. It’s pretty awesome! There’s so much to do there- toys, puzzles, books, computers, and lots more. This was our first story time and I definitely think we’ll make a habit out of it. The teacher read a couple books, you sang a couple songs and even got some instruments to play along with. I look forward to going back next week! Here’s some pictures of your first Story Time!
Afterwards, we stopped by Nana’s house. She was reading some of the things you brought home from Story Time to you along with all the new books you checked out! Here’s a little video I snuck. Nana does not like her picture taken and always darts when she see’s my phone out.. but I sneak them when I can 🙂
Last fall you guys took a tumbling class that a local cheerleading studio put together for you and your friends. Now that you are three, I thought we would try a real “big girl” gymnastics class! We went to MEGA Gymnastics in Novi for your first class. You guys looked freakin’ adorable and were so excited!
However… things changed once we got there! At the tumbling class, I was able to go in with you. This was different. We talked the whole way there about how Mommy had to sit in a chair and watch, and that I couldn’t come in with you. You both were pumped up and had no problem with the idea. When we got there, Molly- you were hesitant and I could tell you were a little scared but you did it. You went in with the other girls, you listened to your teacher and you did everything you were supposed to! Maddy- you weren’t so brave this time. You would not go in and stayed attached to my leg the entire hour crying! Molly, you were so proud of yourself. And I was proud of you too! Maddy, you vowed that next time you would go in. And that is fine too! At least you got to check the place out and see what it was all about. You told me you were scared- Molly you said you were a little bit scared- because you really have never been away from me before (aside from going to family’s houses). So, we’ll work on it! You do both love gymnastics and leotards and somersaults, though!
Nothing out of the ordinary here… just some bath time fun! The only time you have ever taken a bath without each other is when Molly had her cast on. You guys love taking a bath together! I don’t blame you… obviously, it’s more fun when you have your best friend to splash and play with! After we were nice and clean, you got to use your new beach towels that Gaga and PopPop got you for your birthday! They have you names monogramed on them and are soo cute! 🙂
