First Sleepover!

Big girls!

On Saturday, you had your first sleepover with friends! Kay and Gracie live next door to Nana and you LOVE playing with them! They are a little bit older than you- 5 and 9 years old- but they love you guys just as much! Last summer, there were many late nights of you guys up literally crying to go to Kay’s house to play! Anyways, Kay and Gracie’s mom needed a babysitter for a few hours on Saturday so I offered to have them spend the night!

Your reaction was priceless! We were driving in the car and I said, “hey girls, would you like Kay and Gracie to come over and spend the night?”

“YEAH!!!!! ME WUB KAY!!!”

You immediately started telling me all the things you would do. “Watch movie! Make popcorn! Make cookies! Make hot chocolate!” You decided who would sleep where and for the next few days you asked me constantly if it was Saturday.

Finally, Saturday rolled around. We went to Gaga’s house to see Aunt Sammi off to Prom and then headed home to meet Kay and Gracie! When they pulled up in our driveway, I could hear Kay screaming with excitement before she even opened the door. Your reaction was the name!

We spent the evening playing outside on our swingset, on all of our neighbors swingsets, playing with toys and dolls and play dough, eating a yummy BBQ dinner, watching a Tinkerbell movie in Molly’s bed eating popcorn, and watching Barbie and the Princess Pauper downstairs with more snacks.

Now, on a normal night you go to bed at 7:30pm. On the dot. This night, you were up til 10:30 and finally you were getting crabby and exhausted. You were so tired, you didn’t even put up a fight when I said you had to go upstairs. You both feel asleep rather quickly! The next morning came way too soon- all four of you girls were up at 7:30am! Daddy made us all a big breakfast- cheesey eggs and french toast and strawberries- and we played outside til Kay and Gracie’s mom picked them up.

We had a lot of fun and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get you girls in bed! I was thinking, well, I guess we could do that again! That was until I experienced Sunday and Monday! Ugh! We are still playing for staying up so late… I’m hoping a good night’s sleep will turn you back into my angels and not these crabby, sassy girls I’ve had the last two days! Haha 🙂

Nevertheless, I’m so glad you guys had fun and got to enjoy your first big girl sleepover!!

Love you!

BEST NEWS EVER!!!

AHHHHH!!!!

I can finally announce the BEST NEWS EVER!! We actually found this out on Aunt Yun Yun’s birthday but I can finally make it public!!

YOU ARE GOING TO BE BIG COUSINS!!

Aunt Yun Yun and Uncle Jon are going to have a baby!! I am SO excited! Your first little cousin and my first time being an aunt!

So, here is how it all went down. On your birthday, Lauren told us that one of your gifts were back ordered and that she would just have to give it to you on her birthday a few weeks later. We didn’t think anything of it. So, Lauren’s birthday rolled around and we all went to her new house to celebrate.

When it became time for her to open presents, she said you could open yours first. You sat on her lap and she gave you each a bag. You first pulled our a colorful hair clip, then a shirt. Lauren told you guys to turn the shirt around so we could see it. In big colorful letters, it read “BIG COUSIN”. We all read it.. big cousin… I had to think for a minute… BIG COUSIN?! What?! I was in SHOCK!! I still can’t even believe it!

In the weeks since, we talk about Lauren’s baby all the time.  She doesn’t know if it is a boy or a girl yet, but I do- I know it is a boy! Well, I just really think so. If it is a boy, she will name him Jackson. So, we have already been out buying boy things and we talk about “baby Jackson” all the time. If it turns out to be a girl, I think you guys will be very confused! And I will have some returning to do! 🙂 Almost everyday, you come up to me with one of your toys and tell me you are going to give it to baby Jackson. You guys will be the best big cousins! You are so excited to change his diapers and feed him bottles, but you know he can’t come out yet because he is too small. So, we will patiently wait until October 31st. The baby’s due date is Halloween! SO EXCITING!!!

A big congratulations to Lauren and Jon!

Miss Heidi’s Gender Reveal Party!

Oh my gosh! A week or so ago, we went to a Gender Reveal Party! Our neighbor, Miss Heidi, is pregnant with her third baby. We play with Heidi, Ryan, and Brad a lot! At this party, we were asked to wear pink if we thought the baby would be a girl, and blue if we thought it was a boy. I explained the concept to you guys and you picked your colors! Maddy- you picked pink and thought it was a girl. Molly- you picked blue and REALLY wanted it to be a boy! Molly, I happened to think she was going to have another boy too… so Maddy was the odd man out!

When we got to the party, the house was decorated so cute! Blue and pink all over! So many kids to play with, so much food and such an excitement in the air. When the time finally came for the big reveal, we were all ushered outside. Miss Heidi, Mr Brandon, Ryan and Brad all gathered around a huge box, with all their friends and family huddled nearby. Together, they opened the box and out came barreling a bunch of balloons….

Can you tell from your reactions what we saw?!

PINK BALLOONS!! They are having a girl!! We had a great time at the party and are so excited for our neighbors! And now you keep asking me to go back to Heidi’s to party!

Love you!

Best Friends

How cute are you guys?! A few months ago, I asked you who your best friend was. You both responded with, “umm…” and looked at me for the answer. I explained to you what a best friend meant. From then on, you have told each other that you were best friends probably 10 times a day. But you always quickly follow it up with, “Mommy best friend too!”. Yes, Molly and Madelynn, you are my best friends! And always will be!

Pizza, Pizza!

Lately we have taken an interest in eating a little bit more healthy than we have in the past. Instead of ordering a pizza, we decided to make our own with fresh ingredients. You guys were the BEST helpers! We made a BBQ chicken pizza together and it was DELICIOUS! And, you guys had so much fun doing it! I think we may turn our weekly pizza night into a weekly make-our-own pizza night!

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Hey Girlies,

April was full of crummy weather and rain! So, we decided to take the saying “April Showers Bring May Flowers” literally! We spent one rainy day making flower pots! Have I mentioned that you guys LOVE painting right now?! After a morning of painting and a day of letting them dry, our flower pots are complete and are waiting for us in the kitchen. I think tomorrow we will go buy some dirt and flower seeds to plant. You promised you would water them everyday!

This was a fun little project! And you guys did such a good job!

Love you!

So far behind!

Dear Molly and Maddy,

It’s been a month since I posted here! SORRY! We were busy! Between the three of us, we were sick for a total of 20 days. Ugh! That is one of the reasons I do not like the winter! We had bad colds and you each had an ear infection. Finally, we are all healthy and happy now! And even better… the cold winter weather is OVER! This week, summer finally appeared! And, boy, have we been in enjoying the sun! I have a lot of pictures to catch up on so I will be posting over the next few days like a mad woman! 🙂

Love you guys!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter, my little cuddle bunnies!

I was super excited to enjoy this Easter with you girls! Looking back at photos from last Easter, I could not believe how much you have changed! I just have to post the video… look at how little you are! Your hair was so short, you didn’t talk at all! WOW, how much can change in a year!

This year was a ton of fun! We went to the mall with Nana and tried to visit the Easter bunny. You had been watching “Peter Rabbit” on TV for a month, I pumped you up the whole way there, you were super excited… and then you freaked out! You refused to get out of the stroller and wanted nothing to do with him! This was the closest we could get to an Easter picture this year:

The festivities started on Saturday night when we dyed Easter eggs. It was MESSY! I think we probably would have been better off with markers or finger paint this year… oh well! We had fun!

After we dyed the eggs, Molly took the bowl and walked ever so carefully to set them down by the front door. You guys figured the Easter bunny would see it better there. As soon as she got to the door and slowly put them down…. PLOP!… the whole bowl of eggs spilled! Daddy helped you put them all back in!

Sunday morning, you woke up to lots of surprises! First, we came down the stairs and found your Easter baskets! To be honest, they weren’t overly excited- new pair of shorts, a shirt, candy, and sidewalk chalk. I knew you were going to be spoiled through out the day… so I kept it simple! After checking out the baskets (which were really Dora buckets), you were off! The Easter egg hunt was a lot of fun! You girls were really fast at finding them all! To our surprise, the Easter bunny also hid eggs all over our front yard, too! So, we bundled up and went outside to collect them all! I’ll post the videos tomorrow!

After the fun morning, we headed over to Bubba and Didi’s for brunch. It was very yummy! Of course, the Easter bunny had come to their house for you too! He left baskets full of summer sandals, cowboy hats, and candy! And… Google didn’t forget you either! She got you a super soft kitty stuffed animal and (even more) candy!

After Didi’s, we were off to Nana’s… where you were bombard with EVEN MORE Easter presents! Nick, JoJo, Nana, YunYun, Gaga and Pop Pop all brought you Easter surprises!! Barbies, baby dolls, clothes, Pandora charms, Vera Bradley bags, animals, bubble machines… It was like your birthday!! Sixteen Easter baskets!! Some people might call you spoiled, but I say you are just LOVED!!

Enjoy a gallery of pictures from Easter Sunday here:

(I’ll post in the morning!)

Happy Easter, girls!! Love you so much!

Mommy

HAPPY HEART DAY!!

Oh my goodness, girls. I am like an entire week behind on your blog! I promise I will catch up tomorrow and let you know why I have been so busy. But, I couldn’t let this day pass without telling Molly, Happy Heart Day!!
Three years ago today, you underwent your heart surgery to fix your broken heart! I am BEYOND thankful for Mott Children’s Hospital and those miracle surgeons for fixing my perfect baby! It was a scary day, along with the month in the NICU following, but I knew you’d be just fine! You were feisty and a fighter from day one! I am so proud of all that you have gone through and what a sweet, smart, beautiful little girl you have become. I LOVE YOU!! Happy Heart Day!!
