A Late Night Interview with Molly

Dear Molly and Maddy,

After spending some time going through some of your old baby videos with you, I realized something. I don’t take enough videos of you girls. So, I am going to try to change that and start filming more! We started a few days ago… Molly was up super late, so we decided to do an interview. Here’s what you were thinking, Molly, on May 30, 2013 at 11:00pm.

How I Woke Up This Morning

Dear Molly and Maddy,

I thought I would share with you how I was woken up this morning. A couple of hours ago, I was awoken by Molly, an inch from my face, telling me to button her pants. I opened my eyes to see Molly had gotten dressed- shirt, jeans, socks, shoes- all by herself this morning before exiting her room.

Molly, when I asked you why you were getting dressed already, you replied, “Me go Tiger’s game. Daddy take me. Mom, drive me to Daddy’s work, k?”.

Um, okay, Molly! You sure have a mind of your own!

Twin Problems

Oh, you guys never cease to make me laugh! A few hours ago, I was in the kitchen finishing up making dinner. Rather than eat what I was making, Molly, you insisted on leftover spaghetti. That was fine. So, I got it out and warmed it up in the microwave. Maddy, you decided you wanted tonight’s dinner.
So, as I am stirring over the stove, I noticed something going on. Molly, you were watching me as you ate. Every minute or so, you would look up from your plate and watch me as you chewed up your food. And do you know what Maddy was doing? Every time you looked up, Maddy would swipe your fork, take a big bite off your plate, and put the fork back down like nothing had happened. I watched her do it like 4 times.
Now, let me preface this by saying you were really crabby. You had fallen asleep in the car on the way home and when I woke you up, you were mad. Like super mad. So, I knew if you were to catch Maddy eating your food, you would freak out. Perhaps some mothers would have stopped the situation before it escalated. Maybe that would have been the good thing to do. However, I decided to grab my phone instead to snap a photo of your reaction when you inevitably busted Maddy. And low and behold, you busted her next sneak attack red handed. And it was hilarious. You momentarily looked completely shocked, as you figured out what was happening. Then, you became furious. You screamed at Maddy, “that’s NO NICE!!” repeatedly in a seriously bossy voice. But, Maddy, you didn’t seem too phased. Oh, the problems with having a twin!

Oh, and shortly after you were caught, Maddy- you decided you wanted leftover spaghetti for dinner, too.

Maybe I’m mean, but guys are so entertaining. Haha… I love you!

Feeding the Ducks

Dear Molly and Maddy,

It is currently a beautiful seventy degree and sunny day and we are at Nana’s house. We just finished up lunch, gathered some bread, and headed out to the field. Nana had seen about 10 baby ducklings outside yesterday so we came over to feed them!

This was something I used to do all the time when I was little. We’d go to the field with leftover hamburger or hotdog buns, rip them up into little pieces and throw them to the gathering ducks. They would race to nibble it up. It was always a bummer when the last piece of bread was gone! It is so much fun being able to do all the things I used to do when I was little with you now!

Today, we feed a mommy, daddy and five baby ducklings a good lunch! You did a great job throwing the bread into the creek and had so much fun following them down the stream and feeding them! I have a feeling you will want to do this every time we come over Nana’s house now!

A Memorial Day Weekend To Remember

Dear Molly and Maddy,
Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend and, boy, was it jammed packed with fun!
Daddy took Friday off so he could have four straight days at home with us! On Friday, we decided to drive down to Toledo, Ohio and check out the Toledo Zoo! None of us had ever been there before and I have always heard how much better it was than the Detroit Zoo. Truth be told, I am not sure it was really so much better, but we certainly had a great time! After the zoo, we came home and Daddy BBQ’d a yummy dinner. Saturday, we had Bubba, DiDi and Google over for dinner. We had a feast of food, you got to decorate cupcakes with Google, and we all had a wonderful time.
On Sunday, we took you to your first Tigers game!! I think I was probably more excited than you. But, that’s not to say you weren’t excited! It was the perfect day for it. Not too hot, not too cold. We enjoyed your first ballpark hotdog, watches a few innings of the game, walked around and then left a little early to hit a BBQ at Nana’s house. At Nana’s, we ate and played badminton. Afterwards, we went home and joined in on the neighborhood party. You girls played with all your friends, jumped in the bounce house and roasted marshmallows.
What a weekend we had! It was busy but so much fun! Full of family and firsts, it will be a weekend I’ll never forget!

… More pictures to come tomorrow, but here is a sneak peak!

Summer Has Arrived!

Girls!

Summer has arrived and I am SO excited!! This year, I decided to join The Sports Club. I grew up spending my middle and high school summers there. I have been waiting to take you there and, finally, I thought you were old enough to enjoy it. So, we are official members! With this nice weather we have been having, the pool opened a week early. We have been there everyday so far! You guys LOVE it! I am so excited for this summer… SO excited! We are going to have the best summer ever!

When I got home and saw this picture, t reminded me of a picture we had from two summers ago. When I dug it out, I couldn’t believe how much you have grown up! It’s kind of sad…. You guys are seriously growing way too fast. Please stay my babies for awhile loner!

Anyways… We have a summer filled of the pool, the beach, parks, family and major fun! Rough life we live! I cannot even explain how much I am looking forward to this summer and how many amazing memories we will make together! Love you!

First Pony Ride!

Dear Molly and Maddy,
This was SO exciting!! On Sunday, I heard about a place near our house called Carousel Acres that was having an open house. We decided to check it out. Not only did they have a petting zoo and lots of animals, but they had pony rides! As soon as I told you where we were going, you ran to get your cowboy boots! (Uncle Nick got them for you in Nashville!) You were so excited to finally “rida horsey”… And I was probably even more excited for you! The whole way there you got even more pumped up. I had a feeling you would get nervous and maybe be too afraid to get on the pony once we got there…. But, boy, was I wrong! Molly, you were so excited to go first. You got right on and went for a long ride! You even let go of one hand from the saddle to wave to us. Maddy rode next and was a bit more timid but, I could tell, very proud of yourself. I was so proud of you guys and had so much fun! Afterwards, we headed home… It was a hot 90 degrees that day! Despite the scorching temps, you were the cutest cowgirls I have ever seen!

Twin Time

Girlies,

In the last week, you guys have played together so nicely! Quietly together on your rooms or playroom, you have occupied each other for hours! I am always nervous when it gets too quiet… In fear that you are destroying something! But lately, you have been so good! I was just able to do two loads I laundry and clean the entire house while you two watched a movie in Molly’s room! This is one of the million reasons twins are so awesome… You always have a friend to play with!

UPDATE:
I jinxed myself. As soon as I wrote this, I heard four little feet running down the stairs and out the back door screaming “summa time!!”. You guys made a break for the swing set! This is a reason twins can be trouble… You guys are definitely partners in crime!

Kensington!

Hi, babes!
We just got home from Kensington! You love going there! Uncle Nick came with us. We have been going there a lot lately because there is so much to do!
First, we went to the farm. We got there just as a liter of piglets were being born. They were super cute! Molly, you love the baby goats. You yell at them to come over to you so you can hug and kiss them. Mandy, you enjoy them too. Your other favorite animal is Noel, the cow that was born on December 6th. She eats hay right out of your hand and you couldn’t believe how hard and “scratchy” her tongue is. The horses there are also beautiful!
After our farm visit, we had lunch at a picnic table, went to a park and took a little walk down to the beach. The beach/water park opens next weekend and you can’t wait to go! Maddy, in the car you kept saying “abba dabba next weekend already!”. Too bad your magic spells don’t really work… We’ll have to wait til next weekend! 🙂
Nick just left to get a haircut and we are cuddled up on the couch watching some Bubble Guppies. Mommy really needs to clean up this house and do some laundry but you keep saying “Mommy! Cuddle all day!” … it’s making it awfully hard to want to do any laundry! 🙂
